Who we are, and how we write

The Celtic Salt Co. is a Radiant Life Distributors site. We stock Salt of the Earth hand-harvested Celtic sea salt and ship it from Adelaide through Mega Health, a health retailer trading in South Australia for decades.

Three rules we wrote this site under

No health claims. Not because we are being coy — because Australian food standards do not permit health claims on a food that is high in salt, and salt is the most high-in-salt food there is. So you will not read that this product supports anything.

No borrowed mineral numbers. The "84 minerals" figure that appears across this category came from a 2003 popular book about Himalayan salt, most of its entries were below the detection limit, and two of the elements listed do not occur naturally. We left it out.

We say what we do not know. Salt of the Earth describe their salt as harvested from Atlantic salt marshes in France. They do not claim Guerande, IGP or Label Rouge status, so neither do we. Ask us and we will ask them.
