Common questions
Why is my salt damp and clumping?
Because it holds around 13 per cent water and contains no anti-caking agent. Break it up with a fork, or choose the pre-dried coarse grade.
Is this from Guerande?
The supplier says Atlantic salt marshes in France and does not specify Guerande, so we do not claim it. Ask and we will put the question to them.
Does it contain iodine?
Not in a useful amount — no unrefined sea salt does. There is a whole guide on this because it matters more than people expect.
Coarse or fine?
Coarse for cooking and grinders, fine for the table and baking.
